2021 Interior Trends that we are loving!

We’ve got a soft spot for interiors. Yes, the love is real, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. While the last two years have dimmed the sparkle a little, (with most of us seeing more of our own four walls than we would like), we can’t seem to get enough of these 2021 #interiortrends which have left us weak at the knees.

Read on for some faultless design inspo. Let’s just say you’ll be planning the next reno once you’re done with our list.

A la natural

We’ve all seen the raw, natural textures and earthy tones gracing influencer homes and consuming our social media feeds. Honestly, this look can do no wrong. With current fashion trends embracing beigey brown tones and warm neutrals, the story has been no different for home décor. Soft wooden finishes and rattan details are our picks to pull this one off.

Embrace the natural grain of wooden furnishings with our Kalo Round Stool, the perfect piece to compliment any area of the home - from the kitchen to the kids’ playroom.

Organic curves

Organic shapes are popping up everywhere and you can consider us on board. From round-edged mirrors to arch doorways, it seems the soothing sentiment of the curved object is making its mark.

We love a curvaceous ceramic vase in matte white to turn heads at home. Make this style your own with our handmade Iris Vase from Paolo & Joy.

 Calm contemporary

After a year filled with lockdowns, restrictions, and distance between loved ones, we have every reason to want to achieve some calm and tranquillity in our lives. Which is why we are seeing more comforting tones, textures, and lighting in today’s interior trends.

Think soft blues to channel that sense of serenity and modern interiors with natural form to support a tranquil space. Create your calm with our Eadie Lifestyle cushions in slate and sea mist.

 Newfound maximalism

What are your thoughts on floral wallpaper? This look is making waves under the maximalism trend, and we can’t fault it! There’s something about print on print on print that seriously works for us and our newfound maximalism.

Pull a range of prints together with a common tone for a playful yet complimentary feel, or contrast an intricately patterned piece (like our striking Erin Lightfoot vase) against the colour pop of a feature wall. Maximalism is having a moment and we are here for it.

Here’s how you can jump on board…

  1. More is more: show off your sense of creative flair with more items on display in the home
  2. Keep it personal: pick from personal pieces that are decorative and make a statement
  3. You do you: offer an individualistic perspective with unique pieces

Conscious curation

You may have caught us preaching about our incredible collection of sustainable products. At Moss and Wild, we are so proud to support conscious consumerism and to offer our customers a gorgeous range of goods with sustainable origins.

While ethical decorating might be very “on trend” right now, we believe the power lies in educating our community on their potential for impact. Perfect your sustainable footprint by incorporating meaningful materials into your interior concept. We love using natural and recycled fabrics, such as organic cotton and linen over synthetic products.

Our suggestion is the organic cotton towel range from Citta. This neutral statement in matcha/bone print is truly a textile designers dream!

Outside Inside

Acknowledge your natural surroundings and bring a slice of life indoors with your own greenery. Yes, indoor plants are still trending and why not? How could we say no to this style statement when it not only refreshes the air but also keeps the internal aesthetic on point.

We love the Fergus Planter in Ochre from Middle of Nowhere, perfectly designed to fit a standard size potted plant. There is absolutely nothing better than a porcelain planter.
